Wanted to let everyone know that the majority of the information we blog will be about the kids for all the obvious reasons. Mainly because that's who you want to see and know about. Carey and I are just side shows and the kids are the main event.
So make sure that you always visit their pages. There are links to their pages on the right under "Our Family Pages". Please feel free to click on and visit these pages as they should be updated frequently. Also, on Will's page there is another page you can visit called "Watch Me Grow", please feel free to view these pictures to see how he has changed.

Lifestyle Changes
Carey and I have decided to make some lifestyle changes. I say this as it is not a "diet" as in something temporary, but a permanent lifestyle change. We started Monday and we couldn't be more excited about it.
Some of these changes involve implementing a better nutrition program for both us and the kids. We have to be very careful with Will anyway as we have already found that he is prone to allergic reactions. The main focus of this will be on the portion control, as well as eating healthier foods.
As you have probably already have read, we bought a treadmill as a monitary commitment to this change. I have always felt that when making such a drastic change money is a great motivator. It wasnt cheap, but our commitment isn't either. That being said we still needed the treadmill for working out anyway. We have much invested in this change, our health, our future, our happiness, and the list goes on.
We have both started using the treadmill. It's a really good one with an 11 inch tv that keeps your mind off of the workout. It's great to just go jump on it and watch a show knowing that when the program is over you have been on it for an hour. I have had to start slow with my bad knee, but am already up to over 5 miles a day. I want to always do more, however I don't want to push it to hard and risk further injury. Without an ACL or meniscus the doctors have already said that knee replacement is in my very near future. This is another motivation to get some of the weight off that knee.
Carey's goal is to get a few more pounds off so that she can train to be in a marathon. I fully support this goal and know that she can and will do it. There is nothing she can't do when she puts her mind to it. With as much as we will be using this treadmill, I just hope it lasts. Good thing it has a lifetime warranty!

Tile Me a River
We started the tiling this weekend on our bathroom remodel project that has been ongoing. From sealing, measuring, measuring again, cutting, thin setting, and grouting tiling is fun but can wear on you good if your a perfectionist like me. It also doesn't help to have bad knees when you have to be on them all day.
So sufice it to say that I didn't get to see the SuperBowl. Nope, tiling all day. However that's ok with me because I'm just as anxious as Carey now to have it done so we don't have to share a bathroom with the kids. That has been no fun!
We have finished the floor and the tub. Now we have to tackle the custom shower we built, and once its tiled we will be done. I can't wait until its done, it's going to be so nice taking a shower in my own bathroom!

Treadmill
Well we have been in the market for a new treadmill for the last couple of weeks, and the search has finally come to an end. After many night's of going to different places and looking at different models and brands (Nordic Trac, Reebok, Landice, Precor, Life Fitness, Bladez, and Vision just to name a few), we have finally found a winner!
We decided to go with a Bladez treadmill. It is the best model they make. It has an 11 inch tv, built in entertainment system (speakers), fan, orthopedic shock absorbing deck, Ekg monitoring, many different programs, and thats just to name a few. One of the main reasons we decided to go with it was the excellent warranty. Lifetime on the frame and motor, 10 year parts and labor. If you have shopped treadmills you know that is great! The only thing better was the Landice which was lifetime on everything and even allowed you to pass it on to benificiary's. The only thing was that you could tell that was included in the price and not as many features on the treadmill.
The Bladez treadmill we almost bought was a floor model. Bladez no longer makes that model of treadmill and they were selling their last one for 1300.00 off! We thought it was a good deal. However after we got it, the next day Carey found the same treadmill new online for 1800.00 off! We weren't too happy about this, however the place we were getting it at said that they would match the price. That was great and all, but now we are talking about the difference between a new one and a used one. We could have had the used one the next day, but we would have to wait up to 3 weeks on the new one for processing and shipping. We decided to be patient and get the new one. The other benefit was no sales tax when buying online. If you didnt know this before, make sure you look online especially when purchasing big ticket items as they are alot cheaper when not having to pay that tax. Just a tip from the Thompson's there.
So we are looking very forward to getting the new treadmill so we can get started losing some weight!
