New Furniture!

This weekend we got some new furniture for our living room. It is a bit big for the room, but we had our next home in mind when we bought it. We are very excited to have something new to look at as our old furniture has been with us since we were married almost 8 years ago. Carey was happy to see it go, but I have to admit that it made me a bit sad to see it go. We had two very beautiful children during that time, and lots of really great memories. The kids spent alot of time climbing and playing on the old furniture, and I'm sure they will do the same with the new.

Will also got his first big boy bed. We purchased a new box spring and mattress set for Taylor, and gave Will her bed. This way they both get something new, and we aren't just getting him something and her nothing. He is doing pretty good adjusting to his new sleeping quarters all things considered. His first night was a bit confusing for him as he wasn't boxed in and kept wanting to get up and play. He finally crashed at about 10:40pm. The next day he went down for his nap on it extremely well. As soon as his head hit the pillow he was out. Not only is he adjusting to a new bed, but now he has a pillow, blankets, and sheets that are also new to his sleeping arrangements. So I have included some pictures of his new bed as well as Taylor's.

Core Values Team Award

For those of you who dont know yet, last season our soccer team was voted the YMCA Core Values Team of the Month Award. This is voted on by Y staff, parents, volunteers, and other coaches. Out of over 1300 kids and 120 something coaches, our team was granted this honor. It is a VERY big deal, and all the parents of these kids should be very proud. Their children have shown Caring, Responsibility, Respect, Honesty, and Faith. These are the core values of the YMCA. They have also shown charity, kindness, sportsmanship, and love to all those they have been around. These kids were some of the best I have ever had the honor of coaching and many of them I had coached before. Coach Jeff (assistant coach) was also a vital part of mentoring these children while teaching them the game of soccer. We continue to coach together and love teaching the kids the values of integrity that will last them a lifetime as the sports will most likely come and go. So to the parents:
