Taylor Song Contest! MP3 Player!

Ok so here it is, MORE FUN at The Fort!

I just had to share this with you as it is SOOO FUNNY! Taylor has a great voice and loves to sing. However when she sings with her ear buds in her ears with her MP3 player she cant hear herself and what comes out is often what makes the dogs bark.

So we decided to share some of her tone deaf attempts at some songs she knows, and some that she knows not so much. If you can identify each song by its title and artist then you will be entered into a drawing for an MP3 player!

I get really tickled in the last one as you will see. I thought she said "smoke some weed" but then I played it back and she said "eat some weed". This of course all in an attempt to get the words right. She later in that same video says "lick my brain" and I just couldn't keep it together, but she did. I however was in tears!

How to play:

Follow the Fort. We keep our contests in The Family! Don't worry, we have a pretty big family and if your not in it you should be! Membership does have its privileges! This is mandatory.

Then guess each songs exact title and artist by leaving the answers with which entry (1,2,3 etc.) in an email to me. My addy is in my profile under about us if you don't already have it.

Additional entry:

Follow the Blog Frog widget in my right sidebar and join my community(mention it if you already do) and you will get another entry for free if your answers are right. I will email you back whether you are right or wrong, and on which songs so that you can continue to guess until you get them all right. I'm making it that easy. Guessing the songs might be more of a challenge.

Have fun with this contest at our daughters expense, and Good Luck! They aren't all going to be that easy.

Love and Prayers,

Vlogemotions Round II and Winner!

Ok. My apologies for doing my vlog while I was deliriously tired. Bags under my eyes, acting crazy, the whole nine yards. Hey, at least it was real right?

Anyway, make sure to post the Vlogemotions button below on your vlog post and then add your URL to Mr. Linky. Please add the actual URL to the post instead of your main URL, and do so after you have posted and you know your vlog is working.

Again, make sure to check out the Writers Workshop at Mama Kat's. You can get there by clicking on this link. Make sure you enter your vlog post this week in her Mr. Linky also as it applies to her Writer's Workshop as well. As she told her readers.... "you have my permission to double dip." :)

Also make sure you grab the Badge of Courage award from the left sidebar. You can post it to your blog to let your readers know that you are a Vlogger, and you have courage!

Congrats to our winner! She REALLY wanted to win! I guess the more you hope the better your luck.

Happy Vlogging!

Love and Prayers,

And The Winner IS!!

Big time congrats goes out to our winner. Fort Thompson chose this name out of over 650+ names after a very difficult decision. Others that were in the race to the end were Widget, Buddy, Fort, and Tiger.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for the help in naming our new family member. Some of you gave us sooo many great suggestions that I wish I could buy more cameras for you just for your effort. It has given us so much to chose from and we are forever grateful.

We liked this name because I am an avid golfer first and foremost. It also very much sounds like a name that a dog might have. Added to that you have the military who uses the word to describe an enemy aircraft and well there you go.

He was also almost Fort Thompson, which was Mommies pick, but in the end we couldn't bring ourselves to calling our new friend Fort.

Stay tuned for more exciting giveaways and fun contests with GREAT prizes!

Love and Prayers,

Your Gonna Flip Contest!

Ok. Here it is. The moment you have all been waiting for. The contest to name our new little boy puppy has been going so well I'm raising the bar. I had mentioned that the winner would get some kind of surprise. Well now I'm gonna let you in on what it is. Drum roll please....................................................................................................................................................................................................

It's a Pure Digital Technology Video Flip Camera!!! I have one and love it. It shoots great quality video and has a flip out USB connection so that it plugs right into your computer. The files are also automatically compressed so that they upload fast into websites like blogger! Nothing is better than fast uploading video for your blog.

All you have to do is suggest names for our new puppy. You can enter as many names as you like. You have 50 ideas and want to enter 50 times? Leave 50 comments each with a different name. That just raises the odds for you, and of course gives us more to choose from. So get to thinking because you might just be the next blogger to add video easily to your blog.

So make sure you enter as much as you like so that you increase your chances of winning this great prize! The winner will be determined by 1. We choose your name for our dog, or 2. We choose something that wasn't recommended at which time all of Fort Thompson will vote on our favorite of your choices.

I will give you one little hint. We are looking for something short, no more than two syllables. Also we would like it to have some meaning or likeness to things we like or know. You have already given us many great suggestions. If your idea is going to be in the final vote, I will send you an email stating that your entry just got moved to the top of the class. This doesn't mean it will win, but it for sure will increase your chances as your name will have made the initial cut.

Leave your comments or entries here on this post.

Good Luck to all. Now let's see a record number of entries for this camera! It will really help us in finding a name for our new pooch!

Wilibleu Winners!

Love and Prayers,

Say it on a Sign Giveaway Winners!!

Today Taylor and Will drew names for the sign giveaway. I wanted to again thank April at Say it on a Sign for sponsoring this giveaway. Again make sure you visit her site, she has really great handmade signs that cannot be beat in price. The same type signs can be found at Hobby Lobby for triple the cost.

Please play close attention in this video to my son and daughter. I normally wouldn't give you a look into such things, however I want you to see Fort Thompson for how it is everyday. My son says in the beginning that he just poo pooed, and my daughter is making sure by holding her nose that I know about it. I normally would have edited this out and just shown the announcements of the winners, however I thought this would add some additional humor to your day. I had much difficulty trying to keep my composure through the entire thing. Also pay attention to my daughter at the end who chooses to throw in a few modeling poses of her own. And now for your WINNERS!!!!

So if you are one of our Lucky Winners please email or leave a comment with your contact info so I can get it to April. If no repsonse is received within 48 hours another name will be drawn. Thanks for playing!

Love and Prayers,

Watch For It!

The new look at Fort Thompson is almost ready! It shouldn't be too much longer now. For those of you who don't know, I won a contest at The Drama Mama (Hollies Site) and she has been hard at it working on a new look for this ole blog. She has been such a pleasure to work with even though I know I'm not the easiest person in the world to please. She has told me over and over that she wont put it up until I am TOTALLY happy with it. Now that's professionalism folks! If you are interested in getting a bloggy makeover go visit her design site Drama Mama Designs! Make sure and tell her Tim sent you from Fort Thompson.

So keep an eye peeled because you never know just when your gonna click over here and see the new design. To christen in the new bloggy look we will be having our first giveaway once the new site is up, so stay tuned for that because it wont be up long, however it promises to be worth your while. I will officially announce the contest once the new site is up, so watch for it!
