Cory Bailey my best friend just had a baby boy. He was 7lbs. 15oz., was 19.5 inches long, and was born at 11:31am on July 27th. Both baby and mommy are in great health as all went very well.
They chose to name their child after me as he will have my name as his middle name. Words cannot express what an honor that is.
So to Cory, Mae, Kobe, and Jordan. I love you guys so much and can't wait to see you soon.
Once I've had the chance to get up to Tulsa and visit (which will be soon), I will post the pics of the trip on the blog so you can see the newest addition.

Nike Meltdown
Today was a hot one. 100 degrees. Wanna know how hot that really is, then read on.
I got up on the roof today to install a power vent into the roof for better ventilation in the attic. I had already done one before so I new what was involved. It is a very tedious job as our roof is at a VERY steep pitch, and of course there is always the scary fact of knowing your cutting a freaking hole in your roof. Yeah, if that's not enough to make you nervous there's always the prospect of knowing you could fall off.
However, today there was another factor that seriously made this job more difficult. It was 100 degrees! I cant remember how many times I slipped and almost fell before I realized my shoes were melting right off my feet! I thought I was loosing my footing on the roof (which I was at times I'm sure) but it was actually my soles sliding right out from under my shoes. I knew the roof was hot as just sitting on it was burning my rear. I won't put those red pictures on the blog, sorry. However, you can see in the pics below the one shoe that didn't totally loose its entire sole how the heat melted it as it started to slide off and then rejoined the shoe in another place after I got down. Only the top of the sole was left as the bottom portion did come totally off just as the other shoe did. Black asphalt shingles get really hot. I knew they did, I just didn't know they would get that hot.
So a few burns and a good pair of work shoes later, the power vent is up! Let's hope it doesn't decide to slide off like my shoes did.

Window Tint
Carey decided last night that she wanted to buy window tint from Home Depot. It is an advanced heat reducing kind that should help keep our house cooler by putting it in the windows that face the sun.
It sounded easy enough and was allot cheaper than solar screens. Wellllllllllll let me just tell you........ IT WAS NOT EASY. We must have looked like the two stooges trying to get it put up while keeping two hyperactive children occupied. That in itself is often a very big challenge, but this tint deal was allot more than I signed on for.
I thought I would get some pretty good help, but Mother in Law was on tv and Carey quickly got involved in that. No biggy though as she was entertaining the kids for me.
Between trying to keep this film from sticking to itself and trimming it to the right size, I'm not quite sure how window tinter's don't have constant anxiety attacks. It was CRAZY. A word to the wise. Don't try this on your own unless you don't mind some tears here and there, because its for sure a tricky thing to master. Maybe as I do more I will get the hang of it. Wish me luck.

Summer Blues
Today we scheduled a company to come out to our house on Sunday and spray a radiant barrier paint in our attic on the roof decking and also add about 5-6 inches of insulation to give us a total of R49 in our attic. Our electric bills have been through the roof especially during the summer as our air conditioner has for sure been working overtime. We looked at getting a bigger ac unit but that was going to cost more than we wanted to spend, so we are hoping that this will give our ac unit the help that it needs. We are also looking into adding solar screens to our windows, and have already added a power vent (motorized fan mounted on the roof) to help with the ventilation.
The only down side to all of this is that we are going to have to spend our weekend taking all of the stuff down from the attic that is in storage so it doesn't get painted. If you only knew how much stuff is up there then you would know that we have allot work to do. Maybe we should just hire movers? Who knows. The guy did say that they are looking into getting a moving company to partner up with them to do that, but as of right now they don't have it. So for now I'm sure we are just going to hire Thompson's Moving Company. That will not be fun in the summer. It's like 180 degrees in our attic. I'm sure we will be doing it in the early morning and late evening.
Wish us luck. Hopefully we won't dehydrate.

Taylor Talk
Taylor has been asking about taking Gymnastics. I told her (jokingly) that I use to do Gymnastics and that I could teach her.
Her retort:
"When you weren't fat?"

Taylor Talk
Yesterday I asked Taylor (who was making a ton of noise with a toy that was not suppose to be out) to please stop doing that as I could not hear the tv. Her retort was as follows:
"Then turn it up!"
God give me patience!!

July 4th Weekend
This past July 4th weekend we went to Corpus Christi to spend the 4th with family. We got to see Granny and Grandaddy, Gigi and Pappaw, Uncle Nate and Aunt Lindsay, Aunt Sherry, Uncle Bo and Aunt Dottie, Brady and Rebecca, Hayden, Chloe, and Sophie, as well as Brandy, Noe, and Abby.
On Friday we went to the beach and did fireworks while listening to the Star Spangled Banner. It was such a great time, and the kids really enjoyed it as well. We thought that Will might be a bit afraid of the sound of the fireworks, but it turned out that he really liked it.
On Saturday we swam most of the day and then had a BBQ that night. We had a very enjoyable weekend, and always love the time we get to spend with our family in Corpus. The kids of course always enjoy seeing Gigi and Pappaw as well. If they had it their way they would choose to live there I'm sure.
Sorry there aren't more pics, but were having such a great time that we forgot to take pics. Also, for some reason the blogger picture adder went down when I made this post, so there may be some more pics added to this post later.

Fairy Tale Party
Taylor's good friend Katie turned 5 and we couldn't be more excited for her. She has grown into the most sweetest little girl you could ever have the priviledge to know. We are so proud of how mature she is for her age, and what a big heart her little chest carries. She has been on all of Taylor's sports teams, and they have done numerous other things together like swim, movies, games, camp, making ice cream, you name it. They always have so much fun when together. Taylor just can't quite asking us about when she is going to get to see Katie again.
Here are some pics from the birthday girls big fairy tale day. We can only hope you enjoy them half as much as Taylor did being there.
Happy Birthday Katie!!!!!
Coach Tim
Have you ever seen a sweeter face?
Happy Birthday Katie!!!!!!
